Hints and Solution

1. Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder = 8 × 15 + 0 = 120

The correct answer = 120 is divided by 3  = 40

2. 2/3= 0.66,  7/5= 1.4,    6/5= 1.2,   7/8= 0.875
3. multiples of 3 less than 25

= 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24

So, total number of multiples = 8

4. LCM = 2 × 3 × 5 × 2 = 60
5. 2.25 = 225/100 or 9/4
6. Total number of 4 digits = 9999 – 999 = 9000
7. Nearest hundred number = 37500
8. 10101 × 17 = 171717
9. Difference = 10170 – 8369 = 1801
10. Greatest number = 7510
11. Least number = 33719
12. 316 = 1 × 316 = 2 × 158 = 4 × 79

Factors of 316 = 1, 2, 4, 79, 158,

One number = 5/6

16.  LCM = 2 × 2 × 3 × 2 × 5 = 120

= 10 : 15 am

Time taken in the journey

= 6 h 30 min

Arrival of bus at Dehradun

= 10 : 15 + 6 : 30

24. Time = Distance/Speed

Time = 350/75 or  14/3  h

Or 4 h 40 minute

25. x + y = 100, x – y = 37,

x² – y² = (x + y) (x – y)
